Sleep right on the stage: the house sits on the great Mercantour routes — and day loops start at the door.
Saint-Dalmas, a hamlet of Valdeblore, is a true hiking crossroads: the GR5, coming down the Alps towards Nice, meets the GR52, heading for the heights of the Mercantour, and the GR52A, the park's panoramic circuit. Long-distance walkers have stopped here forever — the guesthouse was born for them.
On a through-hike, you arrive on foot, dine at the table d'hôtes, and leave in the morning with the packed lunch ordered the night before. Bed linen is provided in rooms: no need to carry more than necessary. And if you join the route by public transport, the bus 90 stop (Nice – Valdeblore) is 200 m from the door.
On a longer stay, the plateau is made for day loops: larch forests, alpine valleys, summits overlooking both valleys — with the Baus de la Frema as a backdrop. Every evening, we help you shape the next day around the weather, the mood and the legs: a quiet walk under the trees or a proper climb to go and earn.
It's the formula we love: the base camp. Keep the same room, radiate out, and let the table d'hôtes do the rest.
